Four suspects have been arrested in Marapong township in Lephalale following a brazen business burglary at an Eskom office.
The break-in, which allegedly spanned two days on October 11 and 14, saw the suspects make off with items valued at a staggering R250,000.
According to Limpopo Police Spokesperson, Colonel Malesela Ledwaba, the suspects were tracked down to a shack in Marapong Extension 4 where they were found in possession of stolen items including a Circular saw, Kauffman hammer, Pop rivet gun, and solar panels, among others.
The total value of the recovered items is estimated to be around R55,000.
The swift action of the police led to the apprehension of the suspects, aged between 25 and 47, who will soon appear in the Lephalale Magistrate’s court to face charges of housebreaking, theft, and possession of suspected stolen property.
Provincial Police Commissioner, Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe, commended the police team for their dedication in apprehending the criminals and vowed to continue pursuing all criminals until they are brought to justice and dealt with severely in accordance with the law.
Col Ledwaba stated that police investigations are ongoing.
