Israeli airstrikes overnight on Tuesday left at least 104 Palestinians dead in Gaza, according to Drop Site News reports.
Among the deceased are 46 children and 20 women, with an additional 253 individuals wounded, including 78 children and 84 women.
Amidst this violence, Institute of Public Accuracy (IPA) cited U.S. President Donald Trump insisted that “Nothing is going to jeopardise” the ceasefire, insinuating that Hamas would face severe consequences if they did not comply.
U.S. Vice President JD Vance described the ongoing assaults, which claimed numerous young lives, as “little skirmishes here and there,” highlighting a disconnect between U.S. rhetoric and the harsh realities faced by civilians.
Craig Mokhiber, a former seniour U.N. human rights official, criticised the U.S. for its role in enabling what he termed a “genocide in Palestine.”
He accused the U.S., along with allies like the U.K. and France, of conspiring to push a colonial agenda under the guise of diplomatic efforts.
Mokhiber pointed to Colombia’s initiative aimed at safeguarding Palestinian human rights and holding Israel accountable, which he claimed has drawn threats of U.S. military aggression.
IPA reported that the past Biden administration announcement of a ceasefire was merely a strategy to undermine a competing resolution from Algeria, which sought to enforce orders from the International Court of Justice demanding an end to Israel’s military actions in Rafah.
Mokhiber emphasised, “We are indeed seeing another ploy by the U.S. government working in collusion with the secretariat of the U.N. to sabotage the rule of law,” underscoring the urgency for international accountability.
