Keeping school safe: ACF, CPF, and SAPS join forces

In an effort to make schools a safer place for leaners and teachers, the Arising Community Forum (ACF) in Onverwatcht, Lephalale has teamed up with the Community Policing Forum (CPF) and the police.

According to Tsa Lephalale’s Facebook page, the three groups conducted a search at Mabalane Seleka Technical School on Monday aimed at removing any illegal items, drugs, or other prohibited items from the premises.

 Working Together for Safety

The CPF Chairperson, Magwai Donald, Secretary Maria Mokoena, and ACF members expressed their satisfaction in working with the police and teachers to ensure a safer learning environment at the school.

The search was conducted to ensure pupils follow the rules and regulations, as they can easily be influenced by dangerous behaviors.

 Parental Involvement

Magwai emphasised the importance of parents being involved in their children’s school activities, such as school trips.

He also advised parents to consult with teachers about the correct school supplies, making sure that items like scissors are safe for use.

Parent-teacher meetings are crucial for understanding the challenges and rules within the school.

However, it was not reported whether any illegal items or substances were found during the operation at the school.
