The ongoing crackdown on drug-related crimes in Limpopo continues to show positive results, police reported on Saturday.
Two suspects were arrested in Senwabarwana and Polokwane in the Capricorn District.
Colonel Malesela Ledwaba, the Limpopo Police Spokesperson, confirmed a 27-year-old man was apprehended in Senwabarwana with 50 sachets of suspected heroin, valued at approximately R2000, along with an undisclosed amount of money.
The arrest was made by members of the Provincial Organised Crime unit, following a tip-off about the suspect’s drug dealing activities.
In a separate operation, the Capricorn Flying Squad arrested a 32-year-old male suspect in Polokwane for possession and distribution of drugs at the corner of Devenish and Dahl streets following a tip-off.
The Provincial Police Commissioner, Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe applauded the teams for dealing decisively with drug dealers in the Province.
Colonel Ledwaba said the suspects are expected to appear before Senwabarwana and Polokwane Magistrates courts on Monday, May 13, 2024, facing charges of dealing and possession of drugs.
The Police investigations are ongoing.
