Luxury Porsche chop shop suspects busted in Polokwane raid

Limpopo police uncovered a stolen luxury Porsche Cayenne stripped for parts during a coordinated raid at a Nirvana surbub workshop, Polokwane on Wednesday, arresting three suspects including the foreign national operating the illicit operation.

The black SUV – stolen in Zebediela last May – sat disassembled in the backyard chop shop when police arrived with private security partners, its components ready for black-market distribution.

A second stolen vehicle, a white Toyota Tazz stolen in Seshego eight months prior, was also recovered during searches.

The 49-year-old workshop owner faces additional immigration charges after being found illegally in South Africa. Two accomplices aged 35 and 49 were detained alongside him.

Limpopo police commissioner Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe hailed the bust as a blow against organized crime networks.

“These operations expose sophisticated syndicates targeting high-value vehicles,” she stated. The suspects will appear in Polokwane Magistrate’s Court Friday, charged with possession of stolen property.
