R100,000 reward offered in Tzaneen priest murder case

Limpopo police announce a R100,000 reward for information leading to arrest of the killer of  Tzaneen Roman Catholic Church priest William Banda, murdered during sermon preparations on March 13, 2024.

The 36-year-old Malawian national was shot multiple times by an unidentified assailant posing as a congregant.

According to police spokesperson Colonel Malesela Ledwaba, an unidentified suspect arrived at the church posing as a congregant.

The assailant suddenly drew a firearm and shot Banda multiple times before fleeing in an unmarked white vehicle.

Emergency medical personnel pronounced the priest dead at the scene, prompting murder investigation.

Authorities offer a R100,000 reward for information leading to the suspect’s arrest and conviction.
