Gauteng police crackdown on crime in Soweto: Over 50 nabbed in #OperationShanela

In a bold move to enhance public safety, Gauteng Provincial Police Commissioner Lieutenant General Tommy Mthombeni, led an extensive #OperationShanela in Orlando, Soweto on Saturday night.

According to police, this integrated operation resulted in the arrest of over twenty individuals for drunken driving.

Additionally, authorities apprehended more than thirty suspects involved in various offenses, including drug possession and illegal immigration.

“The primary objective of this initiative is to reinforce the state’s authority and support local police efforts in combating crime. As part of the operation, officers also seized a Toyota Quantum that had been tampered with, showcasing their commitment to restoring order in the community, “added police.
