Land Rover has officially introduced the Defender OCTA, a powerhouse of a vehicle that takes the capabilities of the Defender 110 to new heights.
Boasting a range of innovative features and technologies, this model is the toughest, most capable, and most luxurious in the unstoppable 4×4 family.
Under the hood, the Defender OCTA packs a 4.4-litre Twin Turbo mild-hybrid V8 engine, producing an impressive 467kW and up to 750Nm of torque.
This enables the vehicle to accelerate from 0-60mph in just 3.8 seconds.
The heavily revised chassis components, including 6D Dynamics suspension, ensure unmatched dynamic capabilities both on and off-road.
The exterior of the Defender OCTA is bolder and tougher than ever, with redesigned bumpers, improved approach and departure angles, and tough underbody protection.
This gives drivers the confidence to explore even the roughest terrains, and it can wade through up to one metre of water, making it the most capable Defender yet.
According to Mark Cameron, Managing Director of Defender, the OCTA combines the very best technologies and talents within Land Rover’s engineering division, earning it the title as “the very definition of breadth of capability.”
The name OCTA is inspired by the octahedral shape of a diamond, representing strength and resilience.
With its unparalleled performance, incredible capability, and engaging interior, the Defender OCTA is a force to be reckoned with.
Order books will open soon, with indicative pricing starting from R3,499,100 in South Africa. Don’t miss its public debut at the 2024 Goodwood Festival of Speed in England from July 11-12.
