Lephalale Mayor congratulates Kgosi Seleka on oath of office

LEPHALALE –  Lephalale Local Municipality Mayor, Aaron Mokgetle, congratulated Kgosi Gaborone Brains Seleka following his oath of office at the Ellisras Magistrate’s Court on February 16, 2026.

In a social media post, Mokgetle praised Kgosi Seleka’s journey to leadership, emphasising his dedication, humility, and commitment to the community.

Born on November 7, Kgosi Seleka began his education at Seleka Primary School and completed his Grade 12 at Mazwe High School in Ga-Seleka.

He pursued a Management Assistant course at Lephalale College before serving for seven years as an Information Clerk at the municipality, gaining valuable experience in public administration and community engagement.

Mokgetle described Kgosi Seleka as a man of few words but strong action, noting his leadership is grounded in integrity and respect for tradition.

Since his reign began in 2021, and formal appointment on July 17, 2025, Kgosi Seleka has marked a significant milestone for the Seleka Traditional Community, which plays a vital role in governance and social cohesion.

“Kgosi Seleka’s commitment to working closely with the municipality reflects a shared vision of unity and development for the Seleka Traditional Communities. His leadership symbolises continuity, growth, and a deep respect for cultural identity,” Mokgetle said.

Beyond his leadership role, kgosi Seleka is a passionate soccer enthusiast, supporting Kaizer Chiefs and his local team, Seleka Wanderers.

“As he embarks on this official chapter of his leadership, the municipality reaffirms its commitment to strengthening collaboration with the Seleka Traditional Community under his stewardship. May his reign continue to be guided by wisdom, unity, and prosperity for all,” Mokgetle added.
